there has been a lot of crapola. many folks defending them as only wanting authenticity. the former queen has previously been reported saying she wants to take back the old symbols.

there have been a lot of ad homonym attacks from both sides worth of supporters.

Living in DC opens up all sorts of interesting vistas on "Nazi" imagery. The Department of Agriculture has an interlocking Greek key pattern forming rows of swastikas (accidental, I think) interspersed with fasces containing axes. (In the Ancient Roman Empire, the fasces only had the axes if they were displayed in conquered territory, within Rome no axes permitted.)

The Lincoln Memorial also has bundles of fasces as the faces of his armrests. They're ax-less, which is good, and they were intended to symbolize his keeping the Union together.

Post World War II, both of these, but particularly the early 1930s Agriculture Building, are at best sub-optimal.

The royalty of Caid don't have that "pre World War II" excuse.
